Just some mudbox fun. I do so many monsters that I decided to try my hand at a real live animal. Originally I had planned to do a seal head years ago (when edgeloop modeling was all the rage). I never finished the project. About 6 months ago, I decided to revisit the idea of doing an animal bust, and chose an otter instead of the origianl seal idea. Base shape in max, sculpted in mudbox (~3 million polys), back to max for a copper shader (which included some darktree procedurals) and rendered in Brazil. I decided to leave him a little rough and chaotic, especially the fur, like he was a quick mockup made sculpted in copper.
