This is my first Gnomon DVD, over 5.5 hours of material that covers
shading and texturing theory, then I show practical application as I
texture the Mortuary Robot below.

Addendum
This addendum is for little extra bits of info related to the DVD.
Did you not understand something on the DVD? Have an extra question
related to the subject you need answered? Feel free to contact me, and as well as a
personal email back, I will put the best-of info on this page.
1) How can I recreate the Blended
Box Map technique inside maya?
Someone has been nice enough to replicate the technique in mentalray
for maya. Go here for the
youtube video, and click on "More Info" to get a script that creates
the shader network for you.
2) Does the Mortuary Robot model
come with the DVD?
No, I'm afraid it doesn't. The character and asset is going to be used
at some future time for a short film, and so I'm not allowed to give it
away on the DVD or through email. Hopefully the detailed explanation on
how it's made gives you enough information to texture your own model.
3) What version of Max and
Photoshop are necessary?
Max and Photoshop haven't changed much over the last 5 years, so even
though I'm using Max 2009 and Photoshop CS3, most techniques will work
in most copies of these programs. And much of the material is also
platform unspecific, and so you can use the info on any of your
favorite 3d apps, paint programs or renderer.
4) Will you be doing a modeling DVD
at some point as well?
Perhaps. I feel though before I do a modeling DVD I need to come
up with a more interesting way to present the material. So much of
modeling is just pulling and pushing points, and I don't want to bore
people with 11 hours of me doing the same thing over and over again. So
the gears in my head are turning, but it may be a bit before I offer
modeling training.
A huge thank you to everyone who has bought the DVD, I really
appreciate the support.
