Different Ptex Res Per Layer:
When painting using ptex on a mesh, sometimes you want one layer
to be super detailed (like say a layer where you're painting
individual skin pores) and other layers can be quite low res (such as a
mask to tint some areas a little red). Currently, the resolution of
your ptex file is the same for every layer on the mesh.
This issue could be solved in one of 2 ways...
1) When exporting a ptex file, have the option to export a smaller ptex
file than the fullres one you painted on.
2) Could we have it
so that you can specify a ptex res per paint layer? I feel overall this
would be the best solution, as you'll
exactly what your final results will be on the mesh in mudbox, it'll
save mudbox memory, and for those of us who turn on "save PTEX files
with mud file", it means we can avoid the extra step of exporting a
smaller ptex file by hand.
