3D View needs R, G, B and A viewer mode:
It would be nice if you could add a way to view only the Red,
Blue, Green or Alpha channel in the 3D View.
Sometimes we make false color images, which are RGB images where the R,
G, and B represent 3 different values, instead of meant to be viewed as
a single color.
Like say you have a texture that will be used to produce rocks on a
surface, and the red channel represents the displacement value, blue
represents a random brightness variance per rock, blue represents an
occlusion channel, etc. And you want to load the map into mudbox on a
mesh and then edit each channel separately. Currently there's no simple
way to view only a single channel, and so you have to split up these
into separate layers, which can be a time comsuning manual task. If we
could view these channels in the 3d view, then they could be viewed
separately which would help make the touch ups.
