Light Near / Far Attenuation:
Despite the fact it is unnatural, I'd really like to see a near
and far attenuation added to the vray light, the same way we have it
inside a regular 3dsmax light. We can keep the automatic inverse square
falloff the vray light has, since that's realistic, but then add the
ability to limit the light even further with a near and far distance,
which is multiplied with the current falloff. This would allow you to
remove illumination from parts of the scene that don't need it without
the need to manually construct a light blocker for your light.
